Feedtrough Run

Feedtrough Run   One of the most colorful stories associated with this part of Birch River is how Feedtrough Run got its name. This part of the river was supposedly on the route of the mail carriers who rode horseback between Summersville and Sutton. One mail carrier cut down a large tree and hewed it out with an axe, thus creating a feedtrough for his horse. Whether this is true or not is unknown, but it does make a nice story.
